Artwork

What is it?

How do I make it?

Artwork is the graphical information, i.e images, logos and text to be included on the final print.

For packaging and other paper materials this is usually made on a dieline, a template of your chosen design.

Dielines

What are they?

How do I get on?

Dielines are the template or net of your chosen packaging or paper product.

Find a packaging format you like from our website and tell us the dimensions you need and FromPaper will provide for you.

Materials

What options do I have?

Will it be sustainable?

FromPaper offers FSC-certified packaging materials including kraft, glossy, matte, and satin paper and board. However, if you have a specific board in mind, please let us know.

Dimensions

Not sure what dimensions for your box?

This depends on your product, but the trick is to add a couple/few mm's to the internal sizes of the boxes to get a sufficient fit without it being too snug or empty.

This is more critical on rigid products to minimise movement, so if unsure we can support you and even send samples for you to test.

Printing

What methods do you use?

Generally for boxes this is digital print or lithography.

Digital Print works like a high-end commercial inkjet printer or laser printer and is ideal for production runs of low hundreds to low thousands.

Lithography is generally used for products in the 5000-10000 or higher range. This often requires a upfront fee on printing plates, but reduces the unit cost.

How much will packaging be?

How can I get packaging cheaper?

Unit costs depend on materials, sizes, processes, and economies of scale. To lower costs, avoid extra processes like laminating or foiling and consider buying larger quantities.

FromPaper can also research eliminating gluing with methods like tabs, but assembly time could increase.

Assembly

How are cartons assembled at my side to be able to pack?

Boxes are generally shipped flat and require assembly.

The assembly time depends on the design, with simpler designs taking only seconds and more complex designs taking longer. We offer instructions and videos to assist with assembly if needed.

Lamination

What is it?

Is it sustainable?

Packaging boxes are often laminated with a thin plastic film to offer protection or modify the finish.

High gloss and soft touch finishes typically use lamination, but unfortunately it's not environmentally friendly as it's not biodegradable and can negatively impact recycling.

Delivery

For customised packaging production orders shipping or delivery is included. However a fee is charged for stock packaging or samples.

This will be highlighted to you at time of ordered or by FromPaper representatives over email.

3D renders

Can I get one?

How much will it cost?

FromPaper can provide 3D renders for many of the packaging formats we sell, though unfortunately not all of them.

If you want to see the results, send us an enquiry from the contact us page or the product page you're interested in, providing any graphical elements you want displayed alongside the dimensions you think you need.

Leadtimes

How long until I receive my packaging?

Leadtimes are dependant on the product and can be determined before ordering.

This is usually in-between 1-2weeks but up to 5 weeks in some instances.

Formats

Can you provide something not on the website?

It's not possible to show all formats on our website, but at FromPaper we are specialists at providing unique and creative packaging shapes and formats.

We can look into adapting existing designs, making new ones, or taking your ideas and make it into something that is production feasible.
